The 'Made In Chelsea' star has confessed he regrets his bad-boy antics and the decisions he has previously made on the hit reality TV show, on which he courted controversy and cheated on former girlfriends Lucy Watson and Louise Thompson.

He said: "I regret a lot of the things I've done on MIC and a lot of my decisions were made when drunk. Being unfaithful to some of my exes was obviously upsetting. Despite the fact it made for good viewing, it's embarrassing to be seen in that light. I'm just not that guy any more."

He added: "It's not like I had a problem before, but I wanted to do an extended period of not drinking to see what it did for me. I had a crack at dry January, crumbled on day two and then on day 14 decided to knuckle down."

Spencer has recently undergone a fitness transformation - giving up alcohol and carbs - and credits the u-turn in his attitude to his girlfriend and co-star, Lauren Hutton.

He said: "Lauren can't keep her hands off me ... I still love women, but just one in particular. I've swapped a certain lifestyle for another. I think I might be addicted to exercise, but it's a good thing to be addicted to."

He added to The Sun on Sunday newspaper's Fabulous magazine: "I think it's a real-life Truman Show evolution of a character. It's a rounded view of a young man growing up and I'm a more liked person now. I enjoyed being controversial, but now there's no reason for me to be."
