Lauren Platt has admitted she knew this past weekend would be her last on The X Factor.

The singer was voted off the competition by judges Mel B, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh after competing in a sing-off against Andrea Faustini.

In the days leading up to Saturday's live show, Lauren says she knew her journey on the show was up.

During a Good Morning Britain interview she explained: "I kind of had a feeling all week to be honest - they say when you're on the show and it is your time to go you have a feeling all week - and that's what everyone has had so far and it was my week this week."

She also spoke of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's support, praising her mentor for the time they spent together during the competition.

"Cheryl's so hands-on - she had me around her house countless times this week preparing me for whatever way the show might have gone this weekend ... One night we had an Indian takeaway, we watched 'I'm a Celeb...' and had a massage..."

Lauren also said she'd "love to see Ben Haenow win" the competition.
