Zoe Ball has said she doesn't want the presenting job on Strictly Come Dancing because it means she'd be forced to wear a dress.

Having stood in for Claudia Winkleman in the last series, she presents spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two, and insists this is where she feels most comfortable as she can wear trousers.

Speaking to the Daily Express newspaper she said: "It was in the worst circumstances that I stood in for Claudia but everyone was very welcoming. It was great to be able to do that for a mate and Tess [Daly] was so supportive. I think 'It Takes Two' is my home and Tess and Claudia are the main hosts. But they know I am on call should they need me.

"They do such a great job the two of them together. And I like being on 'It Takes Two', it reminds me of my 'Live & Kicking' days. Anyway, I'm much more comfortable in trousers."

The presenter also hosted the recent Strictly Come Dancing live tour, and previously admitted she was glad she could continue her "obsession" with the show through it.

At the time she explained: "I am thrilled and excited! As the saddest 'Strictly' geek, frankly I am obsessed.

"This is just a delight because I get to prolong my obsession just that little bit longer."
