Though American Horror Story: Freak Show can be criticised in many ways, there are one or two qualities about the season, which once again featured familiar faces from seasons passed, as well as a smattering of new and original talent.

Bringing it this time round were Finn Wittrock and Sarah Paulson. Finn we have talked about in the past - he was one of the brightest stars of 2014, but now it's time for Sarah to be lashed with our praise for the wonderful handling and display of talent she put on throughout the last 13 episodes of AHS.

How she seemed to easily manage to play two characters joined to the same body, each with their own differing emotions, vibes and morals was more than just a stunning piece of amazing acting - it was one of the pillar stones of the season and helped elevate it to high levels.

Naming it as one of her "craziest" roles and the "hardest" thing she's ever done, she should now be patting herself on the back in the knowledge that it was all worth it. It'd be a travesty if she doesn't grab an Emmy for her portrayal of Bette and Dot Tattler.

It's clear to see just why Ryan Murphy brings Sarah back season after season to play a host of differing characters. She's able to mould and warp her on-screen personality and traits to fit whoever she's been given to play so far, and we doubt very much that she'd fail in anything she has coming up.

With American Crime Story on the horizon and Sarah signed up to play prosecutor Marcia Clark - famous for her role in O.J. Simpson's trial which will be brought to the screen on the show - we will yet again see another side to the multi-faced Paulson, immensely versatile and incredibly astounding whenever given the opportunity.

And so Sarah Paulson, we salute you, and we thank Ryan Murphy for introducing us to one of the best living actresses on the planet today. We can't wait to see just where you go next.
