Scream the TV Series fans will be going back to Lakewood this summer, as MTV revealed the show will be making its comeback on Tuesday, May 31, with yet another psychotic killer playing a deadly mind-game with the unfortunate town.

Picking up several months after the original killing spree we saw take place in the first season, viewers will see Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) returning to Lakewood after spending some time hoping to recover at a retreat. With everyone around her walking on eggshells and questioning just whether or not she's ready to go back to normal life, it's going to be a bumpy ride for her.

Noah (John Karna) will also be making a comeback, slowly getting closer to the truth about the murders in the first season which could see him unearth the truth about his best friend, Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus). In the season one finale we saw Audrey trying to hide her association with murderous Piper.

Brooke (Carlson Young) is back and now officially dating Jake (Tom Maden), but the pair are keeping their romance a secret from her mysterious father Mayor Maddox.

Emma's mother Maggie (Tracy Middendorf) will also continue her journey on the show, with Kieran (Amadeus Serafini) also scheduled to appear in the show - but which of our originals will survive when a new murderer steps in where Piper left off?

New additions to the cast come in the form of Kiana Lede who'll play Zoe, "an overachieving H.S. student who harbours a secret"; Austin Highsmith as Karen Lang, "a young, idealistic high school psychology teacher who becomes a confidant and mentor to her students"; Karina Logue as Tina Hudson, "proper and polite but has a grifter's sense of self-reliance"; and Sean Grandillo as Eli, "Kieran's cousin who seems squeaky-clean but may have ulterior motives."

There's also a new officer on the show after Sheriff Hudson's death, with Anthony Ruivivar taking on the role of Sheriff Michael Acosta, a man "who grew up in Lakewood and has returned just in time for the new killing spree." Santiago Segura plays Sheriff Acosta's son Gustavo, "a dark and brooding H.S. student who's deeply into comic books, horror and serial killers".

Scream returns in the US to MTV on Tuesday, May 31 at 10/9c, and is expected to follow on Netflix in the UK.
