'Coronation Street' actress Alison King has admitted her on-screen alter-ego Carla Connor ''annoys the hell'' out of her.

Coronation Street's Alison King has revealed her character "annoys the hell" out of her.

The brunette actress - who plays feisty femme fatale Carla Connor in the ITV1 soap - admitted she would never choose to be friends with her "nightmare" alter-ego.

Plus, she'd probably try to steal my fella!

She said: "I would never be her mate in a million years! Carla's a nightmare and annoys the hell out of me. She's the type of person who creates drama wherever she goes, and I'm not like that at all.

"Plus, she'd probably try to steal my fella!"

However, Alison revealed her conniving character is set to take her bad behaviour to a whole new level when she attempts to convince Leanne Battersby - played by Jane Danson - to ditch her fiance Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) after hearing she has been having an affair with former flame Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).

She added to Inside Soap magazine: "Carla's a bit mortified that Leanne's been behaving in such a way. But then she realises that she can play the situation to her advantage.

"If Leanne breaks up with Peter, maybe Carla and Peter can get together instead. In the end, Carla's almost egging Leanne on to get more involved with Nick."
