Daniella Westbrook didn't watch 'EastEnders' when Kim Medcalf was in it.

The actress - who is reprising her role as Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap 10 years after leaving because of well-publicised cocaine addiction and was replaced by Kim - says she didn't tune in to see Kim's take on Sam as she didn't feel the need to see what was happening to her alter-ego while she was away.

She said: "I didn't watch Kim as Sam. When the gaffer asked me to return he said play Sam how I play Sam and not worry about what Kim did. The producers are happy with me and have confidence in my ability."

It's fine on set there's a lot of new girls there's a lot going on but it's a well-oiled machine. We still have a real laugh.

The mother-of-two says she's enjoying every moment of being back in 'EastEnders' as she likes spending time with adults.

She told BANG Showbiz: "I'm loving being back. I mean, I love being a mum and wife and being at home, but it is nice to have some adult company for a change! I'm getting the best of both worlds.

"It's fine on set there's a lot of new girls there's a lot going on but it's a well-oiled machine. We still have a real laugh.

"I've seen Barbara (Windsor) obviously, and it's been great, I've been working a lot with Rita (Simmons), me and her get on wicked, we're always fighting I love it."
