'EastEnders' Phil Mitchell is set to be caught sleeping with his friend's girlfriend.
The alcoholic character, played by Steve McFadden, will move on from Shirley Carter, whom he has been seeing for over a year, to the much younger Dawn Swann (Kara Tointon) - who is currently dating Gary Hobbs.
Phil's affair is set to be foiled by his friend Minty Peterson (Cliff Parisi) after he becomes wrongly convinced he is sleeping with his girlfriend Manda Best (Joise Lawrence).
An source at the soap told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Minty is totally paranoid Manda still fancies old flame Phil, and thinks they could be having a fling.

"He follows Phil to the arches convinced he's going to find the pair of them together. When he gets there he sees something terrible - but it's not what he expected."
Explaining Dawn's attraction to tubby, bald Phil, the source added: "She's always been a sucker for money and power and Phil has both.
"Minty is left in the awful position of having to decided who he should tell. One thing's for certain, he won't want to see Gary get hurt."
Gary (Ricky Groves) and Dawn have had a turbulent relationship, with Dawn refusing his marriage proposals twice. Characters also becoming worried Ricky had killed himself earlier this year after his car was found at a notorious suicide spot. It later emerged he had, however, been in France.
Both Gary and Dawn are leaving the BBC soap this summer, and it is presently unknown if they will exit the show as a couple.

this was sooo blaent it was going to happen after phil saw dawn in her bra and they hugged, like a couple of weeks ago tut!
