Kara Tointon "cried for hours" when she left 'EastEnders'.
Viewers are yet to see the sexy brunette's character Dawn Swann exit Walford, but the 26-year-old actress has already filmed her final dramatic scenes and admits it was an emotional day.
Kara said: "Walford has been home to me for four years and I didn't want to leave, but I knew I had to."
We are starring in panto together. I love singing and dancing so it's perfect. It'll be strange to work together again but we're looking forward to it.Kara Tointon
Kara was axed by bosses after four years on the BBC1 soap, and although she was upset at first, she is now happy to escape the "non-existent" storylines and embark on a fresh challenge.
She recently said: "Last year was non-existent for me on screen, so I'm ready to move on. Since having baby Summer two years ago, my character didn't really do anything - I just ordered a sandwich every now and again. But I never expected to be there for as long as four years. I thought two, maximum, but they kept me on."
Although the actress is keeping her future plans under wraps, she has confirmed she will be starring in a pantomime at the end of the year with her boyfriend Joe Swash - who played her on-screen brother Mickey in 'EastEnders'.
Kara - who fans will see leave Walford later this month - revealed: "We are starring in panto together. I love singing and dancing so it's perfect. It'll be strange to work together again but we're looking forward to it."
