Don Gilet warns his 'EastEnders' character is going to get "darker" following the death of Trina.
Viewers saw Don's character Lucas Johnson accidentally kill his estranged wife this week - but he warns this is only the start of his move away from the good natured community centre manager so far portrayed in the soap.
Describing how Lucas reacts to police questioning when Trina's body is found, Don said:
He said: "We've always known there was more to this do-gooder tan met the eye. Things are going to get a lot darker in the build up to Christmas."
Don also told how skills learned in Lucas' shady gangster past emerge as he tries to cover his tracks.
Describing how Lucas reacts to police questioning when Trina's body is found, Don said: "He can pull these tricks almost instinctively. He asks the police if they know who the body is and is told they're waiting for the post-mortem results.
"Then he calls Trina's phone and leaves a message urging her to call him. It's a double bluff as he knows the police have the phone."
The actor also warned Lucas' relationship with God is changed by the tragedy.
Don added: "His relationship with God becomes quite warped. He starts to think if God is allowing him to get away with things then they can't be that bad."
