'Hollyoaks' Couple Wed 'for A Laugh'

'Hollyoaks' Darren Osbourne marries Hannah Ashworth "for a laugh".

The former bar manager - played by Ashley Taylor Dawson - ties the knot with the student during a wild holiday to Denmark and is soon trying to convince his new bride they can make their relationship work.

Ashley explained: "Initially he agrees with Hannah that it is a ridiculous move.

"They don't really get along and did it for a laugh. But then Cindy puts an idea in his head when she assumes he married Hannah to get the pub back.

"Hannah also believes they should stay married too to show her parents they didn't do it on a whim - which she clearly did."

Ashley says he is delighted with the storyline, but regrets the fact he and Emma Rigby, who plays his on-screen wife, didn't get to go to Europe for filming.

But the wedding happens off screen, so we didn't get to go to Denmark.

He added: "I was buzzing when I heard about this storyline. Emma is a great girl and I've thoroughly enjoyed these scenes with her.

"But the wedding happens off screen, so we didn't get to go to Denmark."

'Hollyoaks' broadcasts on Monday to Friday on Channel 4.
