Kieron Richardson wants to be the next 'Hollyoaks' heartthrob.

The actor - who plays troubled young dad Ste Hay in the Channel 4 soap - says he's tired of getting the sympathy vote from female fans and wants them to admire his body instead.

He said: "I want to get myself down the gym and become a heartthrob. I've been the baddy and the guy everyone feels sorry for, so obviously the next logical step is a sex god."

Kieron's alter-ego is currently involved in a storyline which sees conniving couple Abi (Elaine Glover) and Daniel Raven (Chris Hargreaves) try to snatch baby Lucas and the actor admits he'll be glad when it's over.

He recently said: "Filming-wise, the storyline is coming to an end now so it's been good to have a few more lie-ins in the morning," he admits.

"I live with Elaine and we've been rehearsing at night-time and then getting up a six in the morning, working until seven at night, going home and learning more lines before having a quick tea and going straight to bed."
