'Emmerdale' will stun viewers with an incest storyline this Christmas.

Mechanic Ryan Lamb (James Sutton) will fall for his half-sister Maisie Wylde (Alice Coulthard) over the festive period - but both youngsters are unaware they are related.

A source said: "There are lots of exciting storylines planned for Christmas, but this is a belter.

They give in to their feelings

"They give in to their feelings. But they'll feel sick and betrayed when they realise all their similarities are down to genes and not chemistry."

Bigamist Mark Wylde (Maxwell Caulfield) had a secret first marriage to Ryan's mum Faye, resulting in the birth of Ryan, but the lad has yet to be told who his real father is.

The pair were initially attracted to each other when they first arrived in the village but Faye and Mark schemed to keep them apart and were thrilled when Ryan fell for Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward).

But Ryan and Maisie can't keep away from their true feeling and soon sharing a steamy embrace.

The storyline will lead up to Maxwell's exit from the soap in January.
