Jennifer Metcalfe says 'Hollyoaks' producers won't let her know her storylines in advance because she has a big mouth.

The 26-year-old beauty - who has played sexy Mercedes Fisher in the Chester-based soap since 2006 - thought something very big was going to happen this Christmas between her and Calvin Valentine (Ricky Whittle) but producers wouldn't let anything slip for fear she'll tell.

She said: "I think it will come to a head between Mercedes and Calvin at Christmas. The producers won't tell me more, because I blab too much!

We thought it was unrealistic for our characters to fall for one another. But now we've started filming, we're confident we can do it justice.

"I don't really want Mercedes to stay with Malachy - she's been a bit quiet since she settled down. I'd like to see the old Mercedes back, whether she's playing away with Calvin or someone else. If I could give her advice, I'd say, 'Just enjoy yourself, love - you only live once!'"

Jennifer said Ricky - who is currently taking part in the BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing' - wasn't sure at first if the story of them getting together would work because they were both married.

She said: "We thought it was unrealistic for our characters to fall for one another. But now we've started filming, we're confident we can do it justice."
