'Coronation Street' actress Kym Marsh has blasted neonatal care funding.
The star - whose baby son Archie died soon after birth after she went into labour at 21 weeks earlier this year - has challenged British health minister Ann Keen after recent concerns were raised over poor staffing levels on wards that look after babies born prematurely.
As part of the ITV 'Tonight' programme -due to air this evening (09.11.09) - the 33-year-old beauty met other parents whose tots were born early, at the Birmingham Women's Hospital.
She said: "What was interesting was how everyone I spoke to said they didn't know why they'd gone into premature labour, why they had their babies prematurely."

Kym - who plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the soap - returned to work just two weeks after her devastating loss.
Her relationship with Archie's father, 'Hollyoaks' actor Jamie Lomas also broke down shortly after their son's death, but they have recently reunited.
After their traumatic time, Michelle says she wanted to speak with other women who have been through the same thing.
She added: "When something like this happens to you - you almost feel on your own, so I wanted to meet other people who have been through the same thing because it makes you feel a bit more normal.
"It is the first time I have had an opportunity to meet other mums who have gone into spontaneous early labour like I did."
Official National Health Service (NHS) statistics show there are currently a shortage of 2,700 nurses and a further 300 specialist staff in neonatal wards.
Kym recently spoke out about the gratification these women have shown her for bringing this situation to light.
She added: "It was a big comfort everyone is hoping something good could come from this, just like I was, and hopefully in the future we can see some big changes."
