Larry Lamb asked 'EastEnders' producers not to tell him who murders his character.
The actor - who plays the villainous and twisted character of Archie Mitchell in the BBC soap, who viewers will see murdered on Christmas day - doesn't want to find out who kills him, as he is terrified of letting the secret split.
It's fantastic that speculation and excitement is building around our 25th anniversary storylines, but it is too early for us to reveal anything.
The BBC have announced the killer will be unmasked during EastEnders 25th anniversary episode on February 19, when the show will be broadcast live for the first time.
A spokeswoman for the show said: "It's fantastic that speculation and excitement is building around our 25th anniversary storylines, but it is too early for us to reveal anything."
British actor Larry, 62 - who is also known for playing Mick Shipman in comedy show 'Gavin and Stacey' - joined the cast as Archie Mitchell, father to Ronnie Mitchell, played by Rita Simons, and Roxy Mitchell played by Samantha Womack, last year.
He has previously revealed he'd based the evil character on his father, Ronald, who died in 2008.
He said: "My dad was a very screwed up man and emotionally damaged from his childhood. My dad was absolutely convinced of his rightness and sanity and thought he was completely justified in everything he did. Everybody else is at fault, but he's fine."
