Loui Batley has quit 'Hollyoaks'.

The actress, who plays Sarah Barnes in the Channel Four soap, will reportedly bow out with an "explosive" storyline towards the end of this year.

Loui's decision to quit after nearly four years on the University-based soap was revealed by website Digital Spy, who added she said her exit will "shock" viewers.

The actress is thought to be leaving the soap to concentrate on running a talent school for up and coming actors with her partner Simon Lawson, who played Simon Cosby in 'Hollyoaks'

Loui's character in the soap, Sarah, has been unlucky in love, having relationships with a string of male characters, although she recently came out as a lesbian and is presently in a relationship with Hannah Ashworth. Sarah also modelled for fictional magazine 'Ripple'.

Other characters leaving 'Hollyoaks' include Emma Rigby, who plays Sarah's on-screen girlfriend, Hannah, and Zoe Lister (Zoe Carpenter).
