A 'Hollyoaks' character will be killed off in a skydiving accident.

Producers of the Channel 4 soap are keeping the identity of the accident victim a secret until the episode - part of late-night spin-off special 'Hollyoaks Later' - airs at the end of next month Digital Spy revealed.

One of four storyline strands in the week of special shows sees Sarah Barnes (Loui Batley), her girlfriend Lydia Hart (Lydia Kelly) and Zoe Carpenter (Zoe Lister) go to a bootcamp and attempt skydiving.

They filmed in the early evening after we had stopped flying so our work carried on as normal. All the filming they did was static so there was no flying involved. I believe they did use one plane to film but never flew in it.

However, one of their parachutes has been sabotaged by a member of the group and when each pulls their ripcord, one fails to operate, sending the unfortunate girl plummeting to the ground.

Mike Shelton, chief executive of Tatenhill airfield, where the scenes were shot, told the Burton Mail newspaper: "We had known that they would be coming about a week ago. We had one staff member show them around, but they mainly filmed near our storage area, not very close to our operations.

The five hour-long 'Hollyoaks Later' episodes will air on consecutive nights on E4 from September 28.
