Michelle Keegan was proposed to her by her stalker.
The 'Coronation Street' actress - who plays Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap - says a male fan from Leeds sent her en engagement ring and wedding band through the post with a letter insisted she wore the jewellery to let everyone know she was taken.
She said: "It was so weird. He said, 'The only thing I can do is ask for your hand in marriage'.
"I couldn't believe he sent the rings - and real ones at that. They were worth a lot of money.
"It was freaky but I didn't get too terrified because we have really good security and my dad is a retired police officer, so if he thought I was in danger, he would get involved."
Michelle sent the rings back to the man, who had given Michelle his name and address.
She added to the News of the World newspaper: "I was just glad the man hadn't come along with them."
