'Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan cried for weeks after filming her on screen dad's death.
The actress was moved to tears by the emotional exit of her character Tina McIntyre's father Joe (Reece Dinsdale), in which he falls off his boat into the freezing waters of the Lake District in an insurance scam attempt which goes wrong.
Tina said: "I've done nothing but cry over the past few weeks, or get depressed. Tina is just in shock and can't believe what's happening. She'll have a void in her life now.
I knew how hurt she was and for Tina this is the worst thing in the world
"I had a friend whose parents both passed away. I knew how hurt she was and for Tina this is the worst thing in the world."
Michelle will miss having Reece on set, as the pair honed their soap skills together when he joined the programme in 2008, shortly after her.
She added to The Sun newspaper: "I was quite close to Reece so I actually do feel sad as well, because I really miss him.
"I saw him nearly every day and we do keep in touch, but it is weird him not being here or doing scenes with him."
Reece announced he was leaving the soap in July last year as he wanted to avoid becoming typecast.
