Kym Valentine got three hernias when she appeared in the stage production of 'Dirty Dancing'.
The 'Neighbours' actress - who plays Libby Kennedy in the Australian soap - took on the role of Baby Houseman in the musical of the hit film in Melbourne but says performing the famous 'lift' every night took its toll on her body.
She said: "That lift is very dangerous! I did 550 shows, though, so I can do that lift in my sleep. I kind of perfected it in the end but in the process I split my stomach muscles, pulled hamstrings and got three hernias - all from straining to hold the position!"
She said: There are no words to describe how honoured I was
Despite the injuries she received, Kym says she felt "honoured" to appear in the hit show.
She said: "There are no words to describe how honoured I was. I got such a thrill when I would get called Baby on stage. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and it's kind of summed up by that line in the film when Baby tells Johnny she's scared of walking out of his room and never feeling the same again - well that's how I feel about working on the show."
