'Coronation Street' actress Shobna Gulati was offered a job on 'EastEnders' on the same day she was given the part in the Weatherfield-based show.
Shobna Gulati landed a job in 'EastEnders' the same day she was given a role in 'Coronation Street'.
The actress - who recently returned to Weatherfield as Sunita Alahan following a three-year break - has revealed she was overwhelmed when she received offers from both programmes within several hours.
She explained: "In 'EastEnders', I played Ameena Badawi, the social worker who took baby Chloe from Sonia Jackson. I only did six episodes - they wanted me for 12, but it would have overlapped with my first appearance on screen as Sunita. I landed the role in 'EastEnders' the same day I got 'Corrie'!"
When I left university, I cleaned toilets in a mill, but it only lasted a week! I then went on a secretarial course so I could get office work.
However, the 43-year-old actress hasn't always been so lucky with her jobs, and admits she spent a week scrubbing down toilets once she graduated from university.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "When I left university, I cleaned toilets in a mill, but it only lasted a week! I then went on a secretarial course so I could get office work."
