Steve and Becky McDonald will be "devastated" when they lose their second baby.

The feisty couple - portrayed by Simon Gregson and Katherine Kelly - will be distraught when feisty barmaid Becky suffers her second miscarriage.

Simon said: "They'll both be devastated when Becky loses their second baby. Steve was shattered by losing the first baby. After all his efforts to persuade Becky to keep the baby - then to have that happen. And then he had to make her see it wasn't her fault when she blamed herself."

They'll be devastated again, but there will be lots of avenues to go down before Steve gives up on the idea of another child.

As the shock of losing another baby subsides, the couple will reconsider their options and look into other ways of starting a family.

Simon said: "They'll be devastated again, but there will be lots of avenues to go down before Steve gives up on the idea of another child."

Simon believes his alter-ego might even consider adopting a child, although he is confident their brood will never be as big as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's - who raise six children together.

He added: "They might adopt - but I can't see them doing a Brad and Angelina!"
