Tina O'Brien's Lesbian Kiss

Tina O'Brien is looking forward to her first ever lesbian kiss.

The Coronation Street actress will play Maxine Peake's love interest in a new BBC period drama.

It is the first role Tina has taken on since the birth of daughter Scarlett a year ago.

She revealed: "It starts filming in a couple of weeks. I am so excited, as this really is a dream role. I love the idea of being dressed up and speaking a certain way. I'm playing the part of Miss Brown, Maxine's character's love interest.

"I've not kissed a woman before, so it's something new."

Tina said partner Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw on 'Coronation Street', "thinks it's great."

She added: "Although, he probably thinks it's a bonus it's not a guy I'll be kissing!"

Tina said she finds it hard to watch Ryan kissing other women on 'Coronation Street', such as current his current on-screen girlfriend Michelle Keegan.

I won't say that I enjoy watching kissing scenes, but I'll turn my head or close my eyes. I don't even like watching my own kissing scenes!

It has been a difficult year for Tina - while pregnant, she developed a condition called diastatis recti, where the muscles in her stomach wall 'split' during pregnancy.

Tina added nothing is confirmed as far as a future return for her to 'Coronation Street'.

She said: "There were some talks. I don't know what is going to happen, but I would love to go back some day."
