Tensions are strong between Ken and Tracy Barlow as they try to come to terms with their loss, and when Tracy tries to comfort Ken he shuns her, leaving her hurt and taken back by his sharpness.

At the church, Robert's recognised by Emily as Tracy's ex-husband. Deirdre's funeral takes place and Tracy's emotions take hold, whilst Emily delivers a bible reading and Ken does his best to mask his anger towards Tracy.

The storyline surrounding Deirdre's death has been treated especially carefully following the real-life passing of Anne Kirkbride, who died in January earlier this year.

Tributes were pair to the Coronation Street star at the end of May during a memorial service at Manchester Cathedral, which director Terry Dyddgen-Jones called a "fantastic, warm, human, northern farewell for Annie."

Coronation Street will air Deirdre's funeral next week, on Monday July 13.
