Eastenders To Axe Cast In Queen Vic Fire

Eastenders bosses are looking likely to follow in the footsteps of those folk over at Hollyoaks after announcing plans to axe a load of characters from the soap.

Apparently there is to be a huge fire at the Queen Vic later this year, which could see a number of characters killed off in the blaze, which will coincide with the departure of Barbara Windsor's character Peggy Mitchell, whose exit is promising to be "both epic and poignant".

Looking likely to get the chop are Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Chelsea Fox (Tiana Benjamin) and Charlie Slater (Derek Martin), before The Queen Vic is rebuilt in order to fit in with the show's transition to HD.
