Returning to Albert Square, Jacqueline Jossa's character will arrive just in time for her father Max Branning's murder trial and could hold the key to clearing his name.

Wrongly accused of killing former lover Lucy Beale, Lauren is among a handful of characters who actually knows that schoolboy Bobby Beale - Lucy's half-sister - is the real criminal.

Though little is known about her secret scenes at this point, it's sure to be a difficult time for Lauren as she holds loyalties not only to her own family, but to the Beales.

Engaged to Peter Beale before they moved to New Zealand in February, Lauren was also pregnant with his child when she left.

Both Jane and Ian decided to protect Bobby when discovering his guilt, keeping quiet and not telling the authorities the truth behind Lucy's death.

Jossa has already finished filming her brief return, taking time out from her real-life maternity leave to be part of the trial episodes.

The 22-year-old actress has in her personal life welcomed the arrival of her first child Ella, with TOWIE star fiancé Dan Osborne.

A report in The Sun suggests that she won't be making her permanent return until the New Year.
