Hollyoaks is back with its annual autumn trailer, showcasing some of the biggest and most major storylines coming to the Channel 4 soap later this year.

In the trailer we see Jude Cunningham (Davinia Taylor) declare that the Hollyoaks Spooktacular is open for Halloween, with the travelling fair featuring a terrifying maze no resident of the village would want to get lost in.

Whilst many are having fun and the carnival sets the scene for a romantic reunion, there's a good versus evil battle going on in the background which could affect everybody…

Meanwhile, there's a McQueen double wedding on the way as both Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Celine (Sarah George) decide to walk down the aisle on the same day.

With Mercedes set to wed Joe Roscoe (Ayden Callaghan) and Celine tying the knot with Diego (Juan Pablo Yepez) in yet another family scam, the latter will have to do her very best to fool everybody - including her love interest Jesse Donovan (Luke Jerdy). Diego's mother Juanita will also be making a special appearance, played by Cold Feet's Jacey Salles.

Love is also in the air for teen couple Alfie Nightingale (Richard Linnell) and Jade Albright (Kassius Nelson), who have been battling Hodgkin Lymphoma together since the beginning of the year. Whilst Jade's treatment has been working, there is the possibility that she'll have to start her fight all over again. Alfie however is soon to get the all clear, but is furious his partner cannot say the same.

Hollyoaks have also been working with youth charity The Mix and Rape Crisis to explore the issue of sexual consent, as a new storyline involving Ellie Nightingale (Sophie Porley) and Nick Savage (Ben Ryan Davies) sees an initial attraction turn to confusion. When Ellie wakes up one day next to Nick in bed, she can't remember consenting to sex. Could there be some foul play?

Further big storylines include Warren being revealed as the father of Maxine's baby, Jack visiting his brother Billy (Clive Russell) in prison, Cameron threatening Courtney following her search for Lockie, the return of Kim Butterfield, Cleo confiding in a close friend that she wants to be with Nathan and, James hoping to cope with the effects of his father's historical abuse towards him.
