Friday 6.00pm
It's a day of fresh starts in Summer Bay. The town is caught up in the excitement of the opening of Noah's Bar and the arrival of its celebrity guest, Paulini (apparently she was an Australian Idol finalist, so think Javine in a cork hat).
Colleen takes quite a shine to the singing star, who in turn seems to have her eye on Kim. Hayley, she of the sixth sense, half expects to see Noah putting in an appearance and is saddened when he's a no-show. Irene pats her arm and tells her that he's there in spirit.Meanwhile, Kane and Kirsty are still ecstatic over their baby - no booze for her, then - but worried that the opening of the bar may bring up some bad memories of Rhys for Beth.Sally has been forced to reschedule baby Pippa's christening in the face of overwhelming obstacles.Although Josie is chuffed that the bar has finally come to fruition, she's not going to rest until she's found a solution to Sally's problem. Her answer is to take the party to Summer Bay House! Sally and Flynn are shocked, but Josie tells them that it'll fit right in with the theme of the day, which is "a new beginning and the start of better times". Pippa gets a new outfit; Lance gives a moving address on what his friendship with Sally means and how grateful he is to be Pippa's godfather; Alf reads a prayer from the heart, thanking the heavens for the blessings the town has had during the year - Leah's gift of life to Sally and Flynn for one - and expresses his puzzlement at some of the unfathomable ways of the Big Fella upstairs.Monday 12.30pmHere's the piece de resistance! Cast your minds back sixteen years - if they go that far - to when John Farnham came to serenade Sally on her sickbed when she couldn't get to his concert.
Now Paulini follows in the footsteps of her idol by singing a version of Silent Night for Sally, Flynn and their new baby. It's a moment of beauty, and the irony is that it was Josiebel who made it all possible!
Later on, Jesse and Josie share some moments of tenderness before Jesse lets slip the words that got him into so much trouble with Josie in the first place. This time, her reaction to those three little words is different. And similarly, other couples of Summer Bay strengthen their bonds. Leah asks Dan to move in with her; he accepts. Over at the Palace, Hayley's longing has finally been fulfilled. On this very special day when everyone is coming together, Noah returns for one last visit. Happiness reigns throughout Summer Bay - but be sure that the euphoria won't last long and all hell will break out soon...
