When Morag is done berating Belle over the photo, Drew steps forward to have his say. For him the worry is not that his girlfriend has proved herself an expert in cooking up half-baked stories but that she ever felt compelled to visit Dom in hospital after everything that’s happened ‘If anyone is going to fix this mess with Dom, it’s going to be me,’ he insists. And that's exactly what he sets about doing. Increasingly aware of the potential fallout from his own failed judgment, Drew realises that it’s high time he checked his legal footing and, having enlisted Luc to approach Morag with a fictional scenario, is relieved to find that he and Belle will be in the clear should Dom decide to report the hit and run to the police. It’s now with the courage of his convictions that he can call on his nemesis to warn him off – but, still on a high from waking from his coma to find Belle by his bedside, a determined Dom makes it clear that he’s ready to give Drew a run for his money. The boys do battleGeoff and Annie are struggling to deal with both the revelation of Reverend Hall's actions and the response from the town generated by the newspaper article – the extent of which becomes only too clear when, having decided to show their support for their former mentor through prayer, the pair find the church desecrated by anti-Hall graffiti. Together they set about restoring it to its former glory, ignoring as best they can Aden’s tirade of abuse as he passes by, only to find that there’s far worse to come when a member of the church later visits them with some unexpected news: the Reverend won’t be returning as minister. ‘It’s not just a matter of forgiveness,’ he reasons, as he wrenches a placard bearing Hall’s name from the wall. The troubled twosome barely have time to process the news before Geoff, still reeling from the blow, is once again confronted by Aden, who this time does everything he can to goad him into fighting – and fails miserably. Without throwing a single punch, it’s clear that, in this battle at least, Geoff is victorious.
