Claire Cooper wants her 'Hollyoaks' character to reunite with Tony Hutchinson.
The actress - who plays fierce-tempered launderette manager Jacqui McQueen in the Channel 4 soap - hopes she will soon be back in the arms of Nick Pickard's character.
"I always get stopped in the street and asked if Tony and Jacqui will reunite.
She said: "Tony is the love of her life. She's devastated when she finds out that he's engaged to Cindy Cunningham - it's like someone has stuck a knife in her back.
"I always get stopped in the street and asked if Tony and Jacqui will reunite. I'm secretly rooting for them. But as much as I want them back together, I'd like to see her embark on a new romance first because that's important for the character.
"Jacqui needs to move on right now, but ultimately I'd prefer the story to come full circle and lead back to Tony."
Although Jacqui is desperate to have a baby, Claire doesn't want children any time soon.
She revealed to Britain's Inside Soap magazine: "I'm not very maternal. I love kids, but working with babies on set can complicate your day because you have to change things to accommodate them. I'm more into animals. Give me a puppy instead any day."
