Emma Rigby admits she was terrified filming her scenes for 'Hollyoaks Later'.

The blonde actress - who plays Hannah Ashworth in the late night drama, a spin-off from 'Hollyoaks' - enjoyed shooting the storyline as it enabled her to be more dramatic with her alter-ego, but the violent scenes were sometimes a little too realistic.

My character wasn't in the late night episodes last year and with Bryan Kirkwood producing the episodes this year, I jumped at the chance.

She said: "We did those scenes last week and I was actually scared. There are guns involved and everything. Hannah ends up with a gun to her head.

"It actually really hurt! There was a specialist on set that tells you how to handle a gun. A lot happens in the last episode - it's a real whirlwind."

Emma is pleased she got to appear in 'Hollyoaks Later' as she wasn't involved with the late-night episodes of the Channel 4 soap last year.

She told digitalspy.co.uk: "My character wasn't in the late night episodes last year and with Bryan Kirkwood producing the episodes this year, I jumped at the chance.

"I'm a big fan of his! It's good to be in it and when I found out what the storyline was I thought it was really interesting and something different to play."
