Viv Hope's 'soulmate' Bob

Deena Payne and Tony Audenshaw think 'Emmerdale's Bob and Viv Hope are "soulmates".

The pair - who play the feuding husband-and-wife couple in the rural soap - are convinced their alter-egos are meant to be together despite their tempestuous relationship and year apart.

Deena said: "Despite all their problems, deep down they're soulmates, I hope they get back together - but I've got a funny feeling hey wont."

Tony added: "We don't know what happens ourselves. But I really trust what the bosses of the show are doing with the Hopes, and whatever they decide, I'm happy to go with it."

The couple have a rocky path ahead as Viv returns to the village to discover her spouse had a fling with Gennie Walker (Sian Reese-Williams).

However, Tony isn't surprised with his character's cheating and believes he had done well to remain faithful to his wife for so long.

Discussing whether he believes Viv was right to throw Bob out, he told OK! magazine: "A woman scorned and all that! He cheated, didn't he? There were circumstances, where he hadn't seen her for a year, she hadn't talked to him for a year. He thought it was over - he's got his excuses. But he's not done bad, has he, to live with her for that long?"
