Mike Baldwin Back From The Dead?

Johnny Briggs wants to return to 'Coronation Street' as his dead characters' evil twin.

The soap veteran - who played Mike Baldwin in the soap for 30 years - said he'd like to come back to the ITV soap three years after his character was killed off.

Although Baldwin died of Alzheimer's disease in 2006, Johnny reckons he could make a return akin to that of 'Dallas' character Bobby Ewing, who returned to the US soap a year after he was killed off.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It worked in Dallas where he came out of the shower as somebody else. I would do something like that definitely.

He also added that while he misses the cast and crew on the soap, he would be wary about returning to the show's hectic work schedule.

He added: "I do miss it. Talk about ageism is silly, there's no sell-by-date on a good actor.

"But I don't really regret leaving when I remember how hard it was. The hours were just getting longer and longer.

"It got to the point where I just thought 'I don't want to be carried out of here on a stretcher'."
