Nikki Sanderson's Corrie Run

The former soap actress - who portrayed pretty hairdresser Candice Stowe in the ITV1 soap from 1999 until 2005 - will take part in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile in Manchester on Sunday March 21, where she will sprint for six miles past many of her former Weatherfield haunts.

She explained: "I took part in the Manchester Mile in 2006, but this year promises to be even bigger and better than ever before! For the first time ever, Manchester Milers will be going past the Rovers Return, Dev's Corner Shop, The Factory, and Ken and Deirdre's front door. I can't wait to run down the cobbles again, it'll be great fun!"

The 25-year-old beauty will be joined by thousands of people at the starting line at the Spinningfields complex in Manchester, who will run either one, three or six miles for the charity - which aims to raise funds for vulnerable people in the UK and the world.

Whilst running through the northern city, the jogging route will take the detour through the set and famous cobbles of Coronation Street.
