Rula Lenska is set to star in 'Coronation Street'.

The Polish actress - who appeared in the 2006 'Celebrity Big Brother' - will make a guest appearance in the ITV soap, playing the role of Claudia, an old friend of Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).

Rula will play a glamorous friend of Audrey's who she meets up with at a function. She makes Audrey think about her life and what she wants out of it.

A 'Coronation Street' spokesperson said: "Rula will play a glamorous friend of Audrey's who she meets up with at a function. She makes Audrey think about her life and what she wants out of it."

The episode will be aired in December.

Rula made her name in the late '70s by pretending to be famous in a US haircare advert,

Rula, 62, has previously made a guest appearance in 'EastEnders', in which she played Frank Butcher's girlfriend Krystal in a Spanish special of the BBC soap in January 2002.

Other stars to have made cameos in 'Coronation Street' include Peter Kay, Status Quo and Phil 'The Power' Taylor.
