During the episode, Cilla will be confronted by her two children, Chesney, played by Sam Aston, 21 and Fiz, played by 30-year-old Jennie McAlpine, who can't help but express their anger at being abandoned by their mother.

Chesney says: "She was a lousy mother. She's not been near me for six years and then she turns up out of the blue. Why?

"What does she want?

"Probably someone to scrounge off."

While her daughter adds: "Cilla doesn't do family, she's not daft, just devious."

According to the Daily Star newspaper, the pair have a right to be suspicious of their mother, who is reported to be concealing a huge secret.

Cilla immediately sets about trying to make amends and reconnect with her family.

She says: "I was a lousy mum, but I had my good points. I had chips of the table every night and a bottle of pop. It was like a kids' party everyday.

"The longer I stayed away the harder it got to phone up. I missed you lot so much we're still a family.

"I was mad to think I could walk back into your lives, I see that now. Sometimes wounds can't be healed."
