A new poll by gaming site MobileSlots.com has revealed that the nation's favourite soap couple are Coronation Street's Jack and Vera Duckworth.
More than 600 television fans took part in the survey and told of who they loved watching on the small screen, and it was the Corrie legends who topped the poll with almost a quarter (23%) of the total votes.
Vera and Jack / Credit: ITVIn a close second came Den and Angie Watts of EastEnders fame, whose dramatic break-up on Christmas Day sits firmly as the most-watched soap event in British history. They scored 19% of the vote.
Coronation Street couple Stan and Hilda Ogden took 15% and third place, whilst Neighbours favourites Scott and Charlene - portrayed by Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue - came fourth with 14%.
Rounding out the top five were EastEnders' Ricky and Bianca, with 9%.
A MobileSlots spokesperson commented: “At some point in our lives we all get hooked on one soap or another, so it was really interesting to see who the public named their favourite.
“It is interesting to see that so many of the classic couples came high up on the list whereas many prominent ‘modern day’ soap couples have not.”

7. Ken and Deirdre Barlow – Coronation Street 5%
8. Phil and Sharon Mitchell – Eastenders 4%
9. Peggy Mitchell and Frank Butcher – Eastenders 2%
10. Karl and Susan Kennedy - Neighbours 1%
