With the premiere of the much-anticipated Riviera tonight, NOW TV have explored the most romantic film locations across the globe to see if anything can compete with the gorgeous French coast line. Assuming you haven’t got the chance to nip away to a romantic location this weekend, here’s some weekend watching to help bring the fantasy to life…

Riviera – France

Julia Stiles stars in a Sky Original Production set in the glamourous French Riviera; a sun-soaked playground to the super rich, and the perfect place to hide dangerous secrets. Filmed in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, this is the perfect spot to cultivate a romance with a café au lait perched lightly on the Fontaine du Soleil. Riviera premieres on NOW TV tonight at 9pm.

Game of Thrones – Kings Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland

Sky Atlantic's epic tale of lust, treachery, and bloodshed follows seven noble families as they fight for control of the kingdom of Westeros, and as the land becomes consumed by political intrigue, dark forces begin to stir beyond the Great Wall in the North. Along this ethereal rural road in Northern Ireland Arya Stark escapes from Kings landing while in disguise as a boy. The beach trees were planted in the 18th century and create the perfect setting for a romantic bike ride with your significant other. Catch up on seasons 1-6 on NOW TV before season 7 premieres on July 17.

PS, I Love You – Wicklow, Ireland

In the middle of the Wicklow mountains, minutes from Braveheart lane where the iconic film was set, Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler first locked eyes as Holly and Gerry in the hit film PS I Love You. Cecilia Ahern’s novel remake follows the optimistic chatterbox Holly when she is rescued by Gerry while lost in the stunning Glendalough valley trying to get to Dun Laoghaire. PS she’s not even close.

Downton Abbey – Highclere Castle, England

Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern star in a glittering period drama following the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family on their estate, Downton. The fictitious estate is set on the sprawling grounds of Highclere Castle, which is in reality home to the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.

Poldark – Wheal Leisure Mine, Cornwall

Aidan Turner’s Poldark character, Ross Poldark finds his family home destroyed and his old love interest in cahoots with his cousin after returning from the American War of Independence. Finally home at along the Cornish coastline Ross has the chance to build up his fortune from the ground and even develop a new romance.
