My first piece of advice with these is- put them in the fridge! You can eat them at room temperature, but they are so much better chilled, so give them some time to cool before tucking in- especially now the weather is getting warmer.
Alpro Sweet Creamy Caramel Dessert
I have to admit that this is my least favourite of the four as the caramel variety has a smell and taste of coffee about it and I’m not a fan of coffee. But if you can’t live without your morning brew or your regular visit to the coffee show, then you might love these- sadly they aren’t for me.
Alpro Devilishly Dark Chocolate Dessert
This has the slight bitterness that dark chocolate lovers crave and if you can’t get your mitts on a piece of the dark stuff- this is the next best thing! I enjoy it with some defrosted mixed berries to make a vegan style black forest gateau. I can highly recommend!
Alpro Silky Smooth Chocolate Dessert
This is my favourite of all four. Why? Because it tastes just like your favourite milk chocolate bar melted into a pot. The best thing about it is you don’t have to share it!
Alpro Heavenly Velvet Vanilla Desert
This tastes just like the custard you would pour over your favourite baked dessert. I enjoyed a pot tossed over some warm apple pie so you can still keep up with tradition even if you can no longer eat dairy.
All the desserts are satisfyingly smooth and thick so go down the hatch far too easily.
These desserts are a bargain- they are often priced at just a pound in my local Asda and at 25p a go, you don’t have to feel guilty about your waistline or your pocket.
I also like the fact these have a really long shelf life so you can stock up when they are on offer and they won’t go off in a hurry. Plus, if you don’t have room in your fridge, you can store them until you want to eat them and pop on in as you need.
The only thing wrong with these is that one is never enough!
