It can improve your sex life- Dr Alan Hirsh of the Smeel and Taste Treatment Research Foundation said that there are two pheromones in celery- androstenone and andtrostenol-both of which boost your arousal levels. These are released when you chew on a stalk of celery.

Celery can lower cholesterol- There is something in celery called butylphate which gives it its flavour and smell- but it also reduces bad cholesterol according to a study by Chicago University. Just two stalks a day can apparently reduce your cholesterol by up to 7 points.

It's full of fibre- Celery is mainly water however it also has a lot of insoluble dietary fibre too, which helps in regulating digestion and bowel movements.

It has good salts- Not the same as table salt; these salts are not only organic, but natural and essential for your body and good health.

Warning- celery does belong to a small group of foods that can trigger allergic reactions which cause fatal anaphylactic shock. People who are allergic to it should check food labels as even the smallest of traces can trigger a reaction.
