Dunk your knife in some plant based spread and smooth it on your toast or crumpet- There’s a wide selection of vegan milks out there, so be sure to check before you buy. The good news is you don’t have to go without spread. Check out in the free from bit of the chiller in your local supermarket and they are bound to stock spread made from oil rather than milk. Bring on the beans, meat free sausages, the jam and the marmalade!

Dollop some plant based yoghurt over your fruit- If you’re used to having fruit on a morning- why not make it creamy and thick with some milk free yoghurt? Or spoon some onto your pancakes?

Pop some plant based milk in your breakfast brew- Another use for your faithful carton in the fridge. You only need a little, but the taste can make all the difference.  You could put some chocolate plant based milk in with your coffee to make it into a mocha or if you prefer something sweet, why not add some coconut milk to your hot chocolate?

Soak your oats overnight in almond milk- And put some fruit on the top to give it a balance of tartness against the creaminess of the milk and the oats. You could even use yoghurt for this for a thicker consistency.

Whizz some plant based milk into your smoothie- Juice is laden with sugars and water can taste boring so why not opt for a plant-based milk to mix with your fruits on a morning? It will certainly have more flavour than the clear stuff!
