Something I’ve learned while using vegan and cruelty free products is that Superdrug is a treasure trove of products boasting the leaping bunny symbol.

The Noughty Range

The Noughty Range

They have a vast range of clearly marked vegan products accompanied by the cruelty free logo on the back of their bottles, containers and tubes for customer peace of mind. Consequently, exclusive vegan ranges are flocking to this shop and one of them is Noughty.

It has a cheeky name that certainly puts a smile on your face when you see it for the first time. It makes you wonder just how much you are going to enjoy washing your hair from now on.

When you pop it in your basket however, it does look like you are buying something a lot saucer than just a bottle of shampoo judging by the name.

As I’m one of those naturally curly girls, I thought I would try out their Wave Hello range- specially formulated to define those unruly curls. And believe me- mine could win awards for their unruliness. I’m affectionately known as ‘the mess’ by my hubby which says it all.

Both the Wave Hello products have a delightfully fresh smell that reminds me of many a hand wash I’ve used in posh public bathrooms. You know- the ones that make you sniff your hands constantly afterwards and wonder how they’ve managed to harness such a gorgeous smell in a bottle. Pleasant but not heavy and overbearing.

The shampoo lathered up really well and rinsed out just as easily. The conditioner looks like a hand cream when you squeeze it out of the bottle but once it makes contact with your hair it just absorbs in so you don’t feel like you are wasting any by washing it away.  So far so good.

One thing I noticed with the products was how light my hair felt afterwards- other shampoos and conditioners try to style the hair during washing with oodles of ingredients where this one just left my hair feeling clean and ready for what I wanted to put on to style it.

The conditioner contains avocado oil, coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil so there are plenty of oils in there to keep your hair lovely and shiny.

The whole range boasts that they are 97% natural so no petrochemicals, no parabens, no sulphates and no silicones. I don’t profess to know what all of these are but I know for one that sulphates strip the hair of colour if you are unlucky like me and already have stubborn greys to contend with.

I now only but shampoos that are sulphate free because I want that colour to last as long as possible before my glittery bits start poking through again. So it’s perfect for coloured hair- if you colour it through choice or through necessity.

Overall, the lightness of these products allows your curls to express their natural bounce and body- all you need is a little styling product afterwards to keep it all in place. I liked the way my hair smelled, felt and looked after I used it and at £6.99 a bottle- that’s a steal compared to the prices of other vegan hair products. Perfect for the summer months- the products look the part and play the part too.

Oh and don’t forget to wave at them first or they won’t work…I’m kidding.
