Inky the octopus made his escape from the National Aquarium of New Zealand last week when the lid of his tank was left ajar.

He made his way into the tank overflow drain, measuring 164 feet- the pipe runs under the deck to an external drain.
The drain was only 6 inches wide even though he is the size of a soccer ball but he still manged to reach the sea where he belongs.
