A focus group was asked to test the new product "Barker's Farmhouse Milk". The taste test started off well, with people commenting on the whiteness of the drink and the creaminess of its taste.

What the difference between drinking milk from a dog when you drink milk from a cow?

What the difference between drinking milk from a dog when you drink milk from a cow?

However, things took a turn when the tasters were told they were drinking 'dog's milk' with one woman exclaiming "Would you ever drink that madness?"

The video by PETA is of course a prank but it encourages the question "dogs' milk, cats' milk, rats' milk, cows' milk - what's the difference?"

" Humans are the only species on the planet that drinks another animal's milk, and cows' milk is no more natural for us than dogs' milk", says PETA Director Elisa Allen. "When it comes to drinking milk past breastfeeding age, plant-based is best."

Create agency Don't Panic teamed up with PETA for the new campaign which actually used soya milk- not dog's milk for the people doing the taste tests.

Plant based milks come in a number of varieties- soya, coconut, almonds, oats, hemp. They all have one major difference- they don't contain any of the artery-clogging animal fat and cholesterol of cows' milk. Milk from cows often contains traces of pus and bacteria from cows' infected udders too. As well as avoiding all of these things- plant-based milks spare cows a lifetime of being forcibly impregnated until their bodies give out and they're slaughtered for cheap meat.

There's no reason to drink the milk of any other species, with the huge variety of tasty, nutritious plant-based milks available these days. They are good for our health and kind to animals and the planet, as well.

Why would people be so grossed out if they are still drinking cow's milk? It's still breast milk squeezed from an animal that was meant for her baby, not for adult humans.

I completely agree. Nut milk is so much better for humans, animals, and the environment. If you haven't tried coconut milk in your coffee yet you're missing out!

Clever! If people are upset about supposedly drinking dog's milk, then they shouldn't be okay about drinking cow's milk. Both dogs and cows produce milk for their babies, not for humans. That's why I only drink dairy-free milks.

Love this twist! It's clever and no one got harmed. Who is drinking cow secretions anyway?

How clever. People who are grossed out by this should think about what they're drinking when they drink cow's milk. And then switch to vegan plant-based milks!
