Communication today is faster and easier than ever. If you're reading this, then you probably have access to the internet, so it makes sense to make full use of the wedding planning potential available to you, online.

Along with the new traditions like wedding dress window shopping online, there are a whole host of other applications to make your wedding planning run smooter (and cheaper). IM, E-Mail, Nesgroups, Online voice chatting, personal websites, and Photo sharing are all fast becoming essential tools for the budding bridezilla.

Instant messages
If your birdal party is spread all across the country, IM chats will save you all a fortune. Download a free instant messaging program and set up a group for just the bridal party. Chatting online costs less than a long-distance phonecall, so you can carry on discussing plans all night if your like.
You can even send photos, so even if they can't be there at all the bridal shops you go to, if you can take a pic, they can still give you their honest opinion.

E-Mail
Collect the email addresses of the important people in your wedding party, and you can send one mass email to everyone who needs to know the information. Hen party and bridal shower invites can be done this way, which saves a fortune on printing and postage.

Many ISPs will give you more than one email address, so you can easily set up a special wedding email address, just for the RSVPs.

Personal Websites
Your wedding website is used to keep guests informed of what's going on. You can use it to keep and online diary of how the weddig plans are progressing, or you can just publish the details and directions up there. After the day, you can add photos, and have someplace to look back on your special day. You can even think of it like a virtual scrap-book.

Wedding videos
Ok, so these aren't exactly a new idea, but as they gain in popularity, they get more and more useful to you as a bride.
No only can you have a special reminder of the day after the event, but you can create a live stream, so that friends and relatives who couldn't make it to the wedding can watch you get married, too.
Once the ceremony is over, the video can be replayed over and over again, by distant friends.

Not only that, but with the rise of multimedia phones, you can upload videos of the dress fitting, the proposal, infact, anything you want to, for all to see and enjoy.

Favours
Expensive and cumbersome favours could become a thing of the past. An arttractively decorated envelope could double as the place card, and contain a voucher for downloadable goodies. It's up to you what you give them - money off an order from Amazon, or a song from i-tunes. Scout around, and the list is endless!
