The Runaway Bride

"I had a real life runaway bride on my hands. We'd all flown out to Ibiza for the wedding and on the big morning, she was nowhere to be seen. Absolutely nowhere. Having rung around everyone apart from the groom (we didn't want to alert him!) and found nothing, Operation Find the Bride begun. Us bridesmaids split up with some others and searched the hotel, the pool, even the beach - high and low for over an hour while the groom was getting ready obliviously with his groomsmen. We needed to be getting ready too!!

Then I get a call… She was back in her room and beginning to get ready. We all sprinted (and in Ibiza at the height of summer, that's not the easiest!) to find out what was happening and what the reason was? She had lost the lipstick she wanted to be wearing and ran out to the nearest shop to find it… Being a completely new place to us all, she didn't know where that would be so it took a whole lot longer than the '10 minutes' she expected. Now we all had hardly any time to get ready but she did have her lipstick so at least the bride was happy!"

First and last Dance

The newlywed couples first dance is one of the biggest parts of the wedding. The romantic climax to the day of vows, tears, speeches and cake-cutting… until one of the overly drunk bridesmaids storms the empty dancefloor before the happy couple can even make it on… and starts TWERKING! This actually happened at my best friend's wedding, and I'm not even lying when I tell you she got put straight in a taxi, sent home and the two haven't spoken since!

The Bare Foot Bridesmaid

I was bridesmaid for my twin sister along with 3 of her best friends. We had such a fun relaxing morning of the wedding, with no stress at all (which is unheard of). When we got to the church we excitedly waited as the wedding march played and my sister gracefully walked down the aisle of the church with my dad. As I lifted my foot up to walk the heel of my sandal got caught in a drain outside of the church, I couldn't move, I began to panic as I didn't want to hold everyone up. One of the other bridesmaids ran to my rescue and pulled and pulled me to get the shoe out, to no avail, she fell to the ground we all began laughing and ended up all walking down the aisle bare footed. Luckily no one noticed and my sister didn't even know this was all going on behind her!

Bad Camerawork

I was a bridesmaid for friend a few years ago. We all flew to Vancouver for the wedding. One of my main responsibilities was to film the first dance as they had taken lessons and there was going to be an impressive lift as the finale (the groom, not known for his dance skills, was going lift and spin the bride around his arm high in the air). So I set about recording it, all was going great but then I got really excited (that the dance was going so well) and I clapped over enthusiastically, knocking the camera off centre and filming the ceiling for what felt like a split second but I had completely missed the filming the grand lift! The next day the groom kept asking did I get it and how did it look. So I played them the video and the whole dance was filmed apart from the 3 seconds when the lift happened! Luckily they thought it was hilarious but I still haven't lived it down!
