We’ve all heard of Bridezillas but what about the women that have already arranged their big day despite having no partner to marry?

Incredibly, one in ten British women have already picked out their wedding dress despite being single with no plans to marry!

This new trend is taking being an organised bride to an entirely new level, and it isn’t just the dress that is being picked out, there are plenty of other aspects too.

Aspects such as hair and make-up, the bridal party, and the venue were all picked out even before a partner was on the scene.

Incredibly, 60 per cent of women admitted that they had begun to plan their wedding without even having a partner to wed.

Women had no shame when it came to letting a prospective partner know what they had planned with 41 per cent admitting they had explained their plans to them.

Unsurprisingly, 36 per cent of women said that they had scared a prospective partner off by talking about their wedding plans.

Women were being sensible singles as a third said that they had already begun saving for their future wedding, and three quarters said they had a budget in mind.

Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes who conducted the research, said, “Whilst I have heard of people who have had some ideas about their wedding day, I have never heard of any who have purchased a wedding dress despite no plans to get married in the near future; but it seems that the majority who have keep it a secret, so this is probably why!

“Whilst it is good forward planning, parting with a lot of money for something you don’t need there and then is never advised - particularly as you might change your mind when the big day comes around.

“Planning a wedding can be expensive and if you do not have to spend the money right away, what is the rush? The best bet is to wait until you have decided what type of wedding day you and your prospective partner would like to have.”
