Kate works in the shopping centre as a Customer Service Advisor and Mike works there as a Maintenance Electrician. The pair met through work back in 2005, when Mike started with the centre.

They were close friends at first, but then started dating in 2010 and on New Year's Even 2013, Mike popped the question.

Kate wore a dress by Ronald Joyce, from Shropshire Country Brides, ensuring that all their suppliers were local. She explains why they chose their unique venue; "When we first got engaged, we joked that the wedding should take place at Telford Shopping Centre.

"Not only did we meet and fall in love here but, as we've both worked in the Centre for many years now, we have some very close friends here. One of my three bridesmaids and the best man are both people we met through our jobs at the Centre. It's a cliché, but it's like one big family."

Mike added: "When the Wedding Exhibition took place in the Centre early last year, Kate mentioned how she loved the staging in Sherwood Square and we started to think quite seriously about how perfect it would be if we could recreate it for our own wedding.

"We were thrilled when the centre management team was so receptive to our ideas and we have worked closely with them over the past six months or so to plan our dream wedding right here in the middle of Telford Shopping Centre."

Chris Jones, Centre Director at Telford Shopping Centre, said: "While I don't think any of the centre management team ever envisaged applying for a licence for civil marriages and civil partnerships to be legally held in Sherwood Square, we are all very excited to be joining a highly exclusive list of unusual places to tie the knot.

"The new Mr and Mrs Davies have been very accommodating in the build-up to the wedding, so logistics and organisation have been very straightforward. We are all so happy for Kate and Mike and it's been an absolute privilege for the team at Telford Shopping Centre to be so closely involved in their big day."

Kate and Mike kept everything else in house; Kate and her three bridesmaids had their wedding hairstyles perfected by Francesco's in House of Fraser. The team at Lancôme, Estee Lauder, Clinique and Chanel in Debenhams took care of their make-up too.

One of the vendors who is planning to exhibit in the upcoming Wedding Exhibition also did their bit; Gwhizz Design in Ironbridge supplied the flowers.

Registrar Sally Shaw officiated the ceremony and the photographs were taken in Fountain Square before the newlyweds moved on to their reception at Hadley Park House Hotel in Telford.

Congratulations Kate and Mike!
