The fact is that mums are those who the bride and groom rely on most in the wedding organisation. From arranging hen parties, wedding dress shopping trips to helping with invitations- ‘mum’s the word’ is what the brides and the grooms to be are uttering across the country.

Brides to be were asked who they would get to organise their hen party from the world of celebrity and younger celebs such as Lyndsey Lohan, Cheryl Cole or Miley Cyrus were cast aside in favour of motherly figures like Joanna Lumley and Sharon Osbourne, beating the likes of Beyoncé and Pippa Middleton.

With 61% of couples still relying on their parents to pay for or contribute to their big day it’s no surprise that mums are asked to have a bit more say so in the plans.
